Galapagos – Marquesas – Day 10

Day 10: 24.04.18 1900 UTC, 1200 BoatTime
Position: 8:00S 110:30W COG: 260 SOG: 5,5 (average 24 hrs) Wind: 10-20 kn ESE Sailed distance: 1430 Sailed last 24 hours: 133 Distance to Fatu Hiva: 1680
Weather: cloudy with better charging from the solar panels. Slightly less wind, and more from the east.
Sailed through the night with only the genoa. That slowed us down a bit, but whats the rush? Sailing now with both sails with a reef in the main and the wind at 120-150 degrees at the moment. The plan now is to try to go straight to Fatu Hiva. Judging by the weather forcast that will involve quite a lot of straight downwind sailing. If the sea is not to rough it works well. As every plan…..it can change.
Sea state: 2.0 – 2.5 m swell from SE.
CsB still within sight.
Fishing: Caught a big Bonito (Tuna like, with red meat). At least two meals for the four of us.
All is well.
