Galapagos – Marquesas – Day 17

Day 17: 02.05.18 2000 UTC, 1200 BoatTime (UTC-8)
Position: 9:31S 125:51W COG: 265 SOG: 5,1 (average 24 hrs) Wind: 8-15 kn ESE Sailed distance: 2366 Sailed last 24 hours: 121 Distance to Fatu Hiva: 746 (great circle line, updated)
Weather: Nice, but with some cloud activity making the wind shift in strength and direction.
Wind dropped to almost nothing during the night with a negative impact on average speed. Less wind today also making it tempting to burn some diesel. We have approximately 200L left of 380L total, but we are not sure if we can get more diesel before Tahiti in July. We also need to run the engine for 1-2 hours each day to produce enough electricity/water.
Sea state: 1.5 – 2.0 m swell from SE.
Fishing: Lost one today. Fishing again full.
CsB still within sight.
All is well.
