Day 20: 05.05.18 2100 UTC, 1200 BoatTime (UTC-9)
Position: 9:57S 131:51W COG: 260 SOG: 4,9 (average 24 hrs) Wind: 5-10 kn E Sailed distance: 2634 Sailed last 24 hours: 117 Distance to Fatu Hiva: 383 (great circle line, updated)
Weather: Nice! But not enough wind to keep up the speed going straight down wind.
Wind dropped to almost nothing during the night this continued the next day. We are burning diesel and counting hours, miles, gallons, consumption. We are glad we brought a lot of diesel for the trip, but will it be enough? Hopefully there will be more wind over the next couple of days.
Burning diesel means a lot of electricity. The watermaker is running non-stop, and we have opened the KEA – Laundry Service.
Sea state: 1.0 – 1.5 m swell from ESE.
Fishing: Nothing to report.
CsB still within sight.
All is well.
