Day 5: 22.10.18 0200 UTC, 1200 BoatTime (UTC+10)
Position: 24:13S 154:35E
COG: 265 SOG: 5,5 (average 24 hrs) Wind: 0 – 8 kn all over the place Sailed distance: 672 nm Sailed last 24 hours: 130 nm Distance to Bundaberg, Australia: 128 nm
Weather: Nice and clear
Dead Calm, on the fourth day(!). Too light to sail. We are still burning diesel. We were, however, able to sail for 1,5 hours last night, but only with the average speed at 4,5kts before the wind died again. Nice to hear the silence for a change though.
Closing in on Bundaberg. Only 128 nm to go. Aiming for a noon arrival. It feels a bit strange to all of us. In about 24 hours we will arrive “Down Under”, in Australia, a place we have been talking about sailing to for such a long time.
It feels like we need to celebrate a bit when we get there…
Sea state: 0,5 m.
Fishing: Not started.
CsB within sight.
All is well.
